Which composers were previously obscure but now aren't and so forth?
Is there anyone you anticipate will make a "comeback" in the future? I know that it used to be the three Bs as the most highly regarded, but since, Mozart has "moved up" and Brahms possibly down a little. But what I'm really wondering about is this; I know that Mahler was not greatly appreciated until recording technology came out, and I'm sure there are composers that were relatively ignored and even obscure for a long time who we now know about, but I'm not sure who. I'm also wondering if you think any composers will make a comeback, or if you think its stabilized a bit. They don't have to be totally obscure composers, could just be a well known one becoming more popular and better regarded, or one only known to musicians breaking a bit into the popular consciousness, ect. What do you think? I personally think of some composers I partly wish were better known and more widely regarded(although the "secret" of knowing their greatness can be exciting to), but what do I know. But I'm not asking about your fantasies for certain composers ranking and higher and being talked about more so much as if you think any composers really will become more and more known and accepted, and some maybe less. Maybe I should ask about your fantasies as well? Well, that's about it.
